Since 2001, Heidi Michelsen has done a wonderful job leading Valparaiso University students on Spring Break Healthcare Service Learning trips to Central America.  Not only have our students had uniformly safe and rewarding experiences, they have also gained clinical skills (under the close supervision of licensed local professionals) as well as an understanding of the historic and social forces underlying the pressing human needs.
